Jared Jeffries’ Dream Come True

Every aspiring NBA player has the same dream. With seconds left in Game Seven, your team is down by two, and you're the star, taking that game-winning 3 with two guys jumping in front of you.

Now there is a new NBA dream thanks to Jared Jeffries. Coming into the league, Jared Jeffries was full of potential. A first round draft pick, he was a versatile 6 foot 10 inch forward that had the skills of a guard. Based purely on potential in the Isaiah Thomas era, Jared was paid 6-7 million dollars for 5 seasons, yet he has never averaged more than 7 points a game. So why is he getting so much playing time? Last time the Knicks made the same mistake with Jerome James, they just waited out his awful contract. But Jared Jeffries might just be the luckiest guy in the NBA. Not only is he guaranteed 13 plus million for the next two years, he also is getting time on the court grossly disproportional to his performance.

Since Donnie Walsh got to New York, he has worked miracles trading players with little value for expiring contracts, laying the groundwork for one of the most anticipated off-seasons in NBA history. Jared’s contract runs past 2010. That means he needs to be traded. Which means he has to play. There are many players in the NBA sitting on the bench that deserve more playing time than Jared, including some of his own teammates. But none of them are playing for the Knicks with two years left on their contract, making over 6 million with little to no trade value. Maybe this was would have been Darko’s dream season with a chance to prove what he could have been... if only he had one more year on his contract. Instead, Jared Jeffries is living that opportunity, playing over 27 minutes per game while only producing 4 rebounds and 4 points, in the greatest city in the world. Dreams really are made in New York.

Jay Marshall

will guide the Mets to the promise land in 2012

BVuong take's:
This guy hasn't really been good ever. But he is left-handed so based on that fact, there will always be a chance he might get a lefty out by luck. He might make the team as the second lefty behind Pedro Feliciano...

::: quivers :::

PVuong:
Let's be honest, this guy will not make the roster. If he does, I will personally buy you a Marshall jersey
